Exhausted migrants continue to wait at a camp near the Greek-Macedonian border in harsh weather conditions.
More than a thousand people have taken shelter at the migrant camp near the village of Idomeni, while many more are staying next to gas stations which are closer to the border.
They wait amid growing fears that if the European Union upholds its threat to bar Greece from the Schengen zone, they might remain trapped in the country.
A local aid agency official says the situation will further deteriorate with tougher border controls and restrictions.
"I think that the situation is going to get even tougher because we do not have the facility and the ability to host people, and if they stay at the camp, which is very probable because they are not going to have anywhere else to go, they are going to have to suffer once again because of the cold," said Katerina Goula, Praxis Aid Agency Field coordinator.
"Once again because we are not sure if we are going to have enough food and since we have also young kids and families mainly, I don't think that the conditions are going to be good for them."
